🎯 Purpose

Nova Management College is committed to supporting deserving students — whether based on academic merit, economic need, social equity, or special talent — so that no capable student is denied education due to financial constraints. The college offers in-house scholarships and also guides eligible students to government, state, and national-level scholarship programmes.

At Nova Management College, our scholarship programs are designed to ensure that quality education remains accessible, inclusive, and equitable for all students. The purpose of the scholarship initiative is to provide financial support, reward academic excellence, and promote opportunities for students from diverse backgrounds.

Types of Scholarships / Financial Aid at Nova Management College

Below are categories of scholarships/waivers that the college may offer or help students access:

  • Merit-Based Scholarships
Awarded on the basis of strong academic performance (e.g., high marks in board / qualifying exams, consistent performance in college).

  • Merit-cum-Means (Need-Based) Scholarships
For students with good academic record and whose family income falls below a certain threshold.

  • Government / Central & State Scholarships (SC / ST / OBC / Minority / Economically Weaker Section)
For students eligible under caste, minority, or EWS categories. Nova Management College helps such students apply via central/state portals.

  • Special Scholarships / Concessions
For students excelling in extracurriculars — e.g., sports, arts, cultural activities — or with other special achievements or circumstances.

  • Externally Funded Scholarships & Fellowships
Through corporate scholarships, trusts, NGOs, or national-level schemes (for example through national scholarship portals). The college may assist in documentation and verification.

Eligibility Criteria (Sample Framework)

Here’s a sample eligibility framework the college may adopt:

Scholarship Type Eligibility Conditions (Illustrative)
Merit-Based ≥ XX% marks in last qualifying exam (or top percentile)
Merit-cum-Means Combination of good academic record + annual family income below threshold (e.g. ₹2–3 lakh / per annum)
Caste / Minority / EWS based Valid certificate (SC/ST/OBC/Minority/EWS) + family income within prescribed limits (if applicable)
Special / Sports / Extracurricular Proof of achievement (sports certificate / cultural / other) + application to college committee
External/Govt Scholarships As per eligibility of external scheme (income, marks, category, course, etc.)

(Note: The actual thresholds — e.g. % marks, income limit — can be decided by college management based on resources and local context.)

Application & Selection Process

  1. Notification: The college will publish a “Scholarship Notification” at the beginning of each academic year (or semester), listing available scholarships, eligibility, documents required and application deadline.

  2. Application Submission: Students must submit a scholarship application form along with relevant documents (marksheets, income proof, caste/ minority certificate if required, achievement certificates, etc.).

  3. Verification: Scholarship Committee (or authorised college body) will verify documents and eligibility.

  4. Selection: Based on eligibility and available funds, the committee selects recipients. For merit-based scholarships: on academic performance; for need-based: academic + financial need; for special scholarships: achievements + discretion of committee.

  5. Award / Concession: Scholarship may be awarded as full waiver or partial fee concession, or as stipend, or reimbursement of part tuition/fees.

  6. Renewal Conditions (if any): For multi-year courses, continuation may depend on maintaining a certain academic performance (e.g. minimum percentage / CGPA), attendance, no disciplinary issues, etc.

External / Government Scholarships — What Students Should Know

  • Students can also apply for national or state-level scholarships via portals like National Scholarship Portal (NSP) which collates multiple central and state-sponsored scholarships.

  • Scholarships under such schemes may include tuition fee support, maintenance allowances, or other financial aid depending on eligibility (income, category, merit, course, etc.)

  • The college administration can assist eligible students in applying, documentation, and follow-up with government offices or portals, to make the process smooth.

Scholarship Policy — Objectives & Principles

  • Ensure equal opportunity — no deserving student should be barred from admission due to financial hardship.

  • Promote academic excellence — reward meritorious students for prior academic achievements.

  • Encourage talent & holistic development — support students excelling in sports, arts or other fields.

  • Ensure transparency and fairness in selection and disbursement.

  • Encourage diversity and social equity — through support to under-represented, marginalized or economically weaker students.
